A BIG SMILE IN A SMALL FACE

"A Big Smile in a Small Face" was an initiative started by the Directors of The Spanish Institute of Puebla and their daughter, born out of a desire to give to some of the less fortunate children of Mexico a reason to smile. So using a tradition in Mexico, by which, the Three Wise Men: Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar bring toys to the children on January 6th of each year; we have picked this time of the year to dress up as the Three Wise Men and show up at poor communities, unannounced, to hand out blankets, shoes, food, toys and other gifts for the poor children of Mexico.

With private resources and with the help of cash donations, toy donations, shoe donations, etc. and with the great help of over 29 volunteers we were able to hand out, in our 10th year, around 4,650 toys, 800 pairs of shoes, 800 ponchos made out of wool, over 365 Roscas de Reyes (a pastry traditionally eaten to celebrate the Epiphany), clothes, books, etc.

Of course this project would not be a reality without the great help of our donors, friends and volunteers to which we want to express our complete gratitude on behalf of our team and of the most needed children in Mexico that we have all made smile. We are happy to achieve the goal of this project, which is to, achieve smiles and to show the most deprived areas of Mexico that someone cares for them.

100% of all donations goes directly to the poor children of Mexico. All administrative, promotional, transportation and any other costs that are not for direct benefit of the children are covered by the Spanish Institute of Puebla, Directors and volunteers.

UNA GRAN SONRISA EN UNA CARITA PEQUEÑA

“ Una gran sonrisa en una carita pequeña” fue una iniciativa de los Directores del Spanish Institute of Puebla y su hija, nació del deseo de dar a los niños menos afortunados de México una razón para sonreír. Para ello, usando una tradición en México, en la cual los Tres Reyes Magos: Melchor, Gaspar y Baltazar traen juguetes a los niños el 6 de enero de cada año, hemos escogido esta fecha del año para caracterizarnos como los Tres Reyes Magos y llegar a comunidades pobres, sin previo aviso y dar a los niños cobijas, zapatos, comida, juguetes, otros regalos a los niños pobres de México.

Con propios recursos y con la ayuda de donaciones en efectivo, donaciones de juguetes, donaciones de zapatos, etc., y cerca de 29 voluntarios, hemos logrado entregar, en nuestro 10º año, cerca de 4,650 juguetes, 800 pares de zapatos, 800 ponchos, más de 365 Roscas de Reyes (un pastel dulce tradicional que se come para celebrar La Epifanía), ropa, libros, etc.

Por supuesto, este proyecto no sería una realidad sin la gran ayuda de nuestros donadores, amigos y voluntarios a quienes queremos expresar nuestra completa gratitud por respaldarnos y a los niños más necesitados de México para que todos tengan una gran sonrisa. Nosotros estamos felices de lograr el objetivo de nuestro proyecto, que es, lograr sonrisas y mostrarles a las áreas más marginadas de México que alguien se ocupa de ellos.

El 100% de las donaciones va directamente a los niños pobres de México. Todos los gastos administrativos, promocionales, de transporte y cualquier otro que no beneficie directamente a los niños están cubiertos por Spanish Institute of Puebla, Directores y voluntarios.
