I struggle with time phrases, because they don't directly translate into English sometimes, and I'm not sure whether translators online are telling me the right thing. Can someone help translate these examples?
I played tennis for 5 years (at some point in my life)
I have been playing tennis for 5 years (the last 5 years)
I won a competition 5 years ago (5 years ago, not for 5 years)
I have played tennis since i was 5 years old
